As 2017 nears it’s first UFC event of the new year, the UFC organization also enters into it’s first full calendar year under the new ownership of WME-IMG. Fresh on the heels of ringing in 2017 the UFC has just announced a UFC Fight Pass free weekend on January 13th - 15th, 2017. There have been rumors of less PPV’s and more TV broadcasts under the new regime, does this move also trend in that direction?
Not only does the weekend play host to UFC Fight Night: Rodriguez vs. Penn (UFC Fight Night 103) but also TKO 37 and Invicta 21. Below we take a look at all 3 of these events.

The 21st Invicta all female women’s MMA event will feature a main event championship bout between Meagan Anderson and Charmaine Tweet. The winner of the fight, and the title, likely headed next to the UFC and their newly created Women’s Featherweight Division.
While the event was originally slated to feature the highly anticipated debut of boxing star Heather Hardy, a concussion suffered by her opponent during training forced the bout cancellation. While always slated for the main event, Anderson vs. Tweet was elevated to a championship fight when the news of current champion Cris ‘Cyborg’ Santos was flagged for a potential USADA doping violation.
The young Anderson is coming in on a three-fight win streak including “Performance of the Night” bonuses in recent TKO wins over Peggy Morgan and Amanda Bell. The 13 year elder, Tweet, comes into the bout at 39 years old and unbeaten since suffering defeat to Santos in 2015.
