Dominick Cruz will face Team Alpha Male product Cody Garbrandt for the UFC Bantamweight Championship on Friday December 30 at UFC 207, but the pair got a chance to verbally spar on Saturday night at UFC on Fox 22. Jon Anik played mediator/instigator.
Garbrandt (10-0) will be tasked with figuring out the puzzle that is “The Dominator,” something that hasn’t been done inside the octagon. Cruz will look to pick up just his sixth UFC victory, as injuries have plagued his time with the company.
Cruz laid a verbal smackdown on “No Love” live on Fox, leaving Garbrandt flustered and at times — unintelligible.
“Who have you ever beat?” asked Garbrandt.
“I beat everybody, all your teammates. Every one of them,” said Cruz.
“I built a house beating your team.”
Cruz defeated Team Alpha Male head coach Urijah Faber for the UFC Bantamweight Title in June. Former TAM member T.J. Dillashaw also lost to Cruz at UFC Fight Night 81 back in January via split decision.
As reported by Marc Raimondi, John McCarthy will referee the bantamweight championship bout on December 30.
