Michelle Waterson is now ranked #7 in the UFC Women’s strawweight division after she submitted Paige VanZant at UFC Sacramento back in December, but the octagon isn’t the only place ‘The Karate Hottie’ is making moves.
Waterson also stars in a new 3-minute spot by Allure, entitled ‘A Female Warrior | The Power of Beauty.’ Michelle talks about her mixed martial arts career, the difficulties of weight cutting, her modeling career, and speaks about life as a mother.
“Just being a female in a male dominant sport — it is a challenge, but it was a challenge that I welcomed, because it just makes you that much more stronger. If it was easy, everybody would do it,” said Waterson, who added that she wouldn’t continue to do mixed martial arts if it didn’t serve her in her everyday life as a mother.
“I believe women are warriors naturally.”
The Karate Hottie (MMA record 14-4) is now 2-0 against UFC competition, and will now look to climb the women’s strawweight rankings on her path to a title shot against current UFC 115-pound champ Joanna Jedzejczyk.
Waterson’s return to the octagon has not yet been announced.
