Bellator MMA has parted ways with two fighters on their Heavyweight roster. Both Bobby Brents and Tony Johnson have been released by the promotion from their contractual obligations and encouraged to seek fights elsewhere in the sport of MMA.
The release of Johnson was reported and confirmed by The MMA Report while Brents confirmed his release via his Facebook Profile.
Johnson, now 10-3 at 30 years old comes off his most recent loss at Bellator 161 this past September against Cheick Kongo which broke a previous 3 fight win streak including 2 of those victories in the Bellator cage and 2 of those victories coming via knockout.
Brents, now 17-6-1 and 34 years of age, made his way to Bellator via securing the Shamrock FC Heavyweight Title earlier in 2016 but dropped his promotional debut in October against Chase Gormley and is not invited back for a return.
